Surrogacy-Friendly States in the U.S.
Surrogacy-Friendly States in the U.S.
When it comes to surrogacy laws, it is essential to remember that not everything is as black and white as it seems. It is full of all sorts of shades of grey. The law behind gestational surrogacy is fluid. Just like everything else in life, it grows, changes and adapts.
Though we live in a very progressive time, it sometimes takes the legal system a moment to catch up. It is imperative to understand that not every state is considered “surrogacy-friendly.” Each state has its own set of rules and regulations regarding surrogacy. As a gestational carrier, you will need to research the laws and legal procedures you are required to follow. Getting in touch with your legal advisor may help you reach an informed decision and determine if you are residing in one of the surrogacy-friendly states throughout the US.

By 2021, there will be an amendment in the New York Surrogacy Law, and gestational surrogacy will be permitted.
The Neutral Surrogacy States
There are some states that though they might be considered friendly, there are many legal proceedings that have to take place. Note for Gestational Carriers
Always keep in mind that gestational surrogacy laws are continually changing. Take the time to do your research. You might be surprised to know that even though these laws are written, many states go about it on a case-by-case basis.
